📸 Photo booths in Seoul: a STAY's guide to 4-cut photos

Korean self-service photo booths print a strip of four photos ('4-cut', 네컷) in a few minutes. Brands you'll see include Life4Cuts (인생네컷), Photoism (포토이즘), Harufilm (하루필름) and Photogray (포토그레이). Many birthday cafés include a booth or a special frame too.

Paso a paso

  1. Find oneHongdae, Sinchon, Myeongdong and Gangnam have booths on almost every block, many open late or 24 hours and unstaffed.
  2. Pay at the kioskA strip of four usually costs a few thousand won; most kiosks take cards, some only cash. Choose how many people and prints.
  3. Pick a frameBooths rotate limited frames, sometimes tied to artists or birthdays. Birthday cafés may run their own booth or frame — it shows as 포토부스 on the poster.
  4. Use the propsHair bands, glasses and hats sit in a basket inside or outside the booth. Put them back when you leave.
  5. Shoot and chooseThere's a countdown for each shot. Afterwards you pick the four shots and a filter on the screen.
  6. Get the digital copyScan the QR code on the print within the time limit to download the photos and the short video.
