Getting from Seoul to Ocean World and Barnshill — the easy way

Easiest: train Cheongnyangni → Yongmun (Barnshill guests)

About 1 h 20 min from Hongdae · train about ₩3,800 · 1 transfer

1. Get to Cheongnyangni Station: the Gyeongui–Jungang Line runs straight there from Hongik Univ. Station (about 35–40 min). From Myeongdong: Line 4 to Dongdaemun, then Line 1 to Cheongnyangni.
2. Take a Korail train (ITX-Maum or Mugunghwa) from Cheongnyangni to Yongmun: about 37–41 min, about ₩3,800, roughly 10 trains a day (first 06:38, last 22:00). Book on the Korail website/app or buy at the ticket counter with your passport.
3. At Yongmun Station, Barnshill is about 20 km away. Ask Barnshill (or us in the chat) to arrange a pickup at Yongmun when you book; otherwise take a taxi, about 30 min (estimate).
4. Next morning: Ocean World is 10 minutes from Barnshill. Ask the resort for a ride or take a taxi.

Short on budget? The Gyeongui–Jungang subway line also goes all the way to Yongmun with a T-money card — slower (over an hour from Cheongnyangni, estimate) but no ticket needed. Alternative pickup point: Gimyujeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line (14:00 pickup per Barnshill's Yanolja listing).

Fastest by public transport: express bus + taxi (day trip)

About 2 h 30 min · about ₩50,000 per person (less if you share the taxi)

1. Take Line 2 to Gangbyeon Station (Dong Seoul Bus Terminal): about 50 min from Hongdae, 35 min from Myeongdong.
2. Buy a ticket to Hongcheon at a staffed counter (bring your passport; kiosks often reject foreign cards). General ₩8,100 / premium ₩10,500, about 1 hour.
3. From Hongcheon Terminal, take a taxi to Ocean World: about 30 min, roughly ₩35,000–45,000 (estimate). Show the Korean address below.
4. Going back: taxi to Hongcheon Terminal; the last bus to Dong Seoul is around 21:30.

Most comfortable: private van from your hotel

About 1 h 45 min · from about ₩280,000 per van (up to 6)

1. Book a private transfer on Klook, Trazy or KKday — search "Vivaldi Park private van". Split it with friends and it gets reasonable.
2. In winter (December to early March), Trazy runs a daily ski shuttle from Hongdae and Euljiro that stops at Vivaldi Park; check whether it suits Ocean World visitors before booking.
