💳 T-money, Climate Card or WOWPASS?

All three let you tap onto Seoul's subway and buses. Choose by how much you'll ride and whether you also want a prepaid payment card.

Step by step

T-money: the simple choiceBuy at convenience stores (card about ₩3,000–5,000) and top up with cash at station machines or stores. Subway rides start at ₩1,550 with a card.
Climate Card: unlimited ridesTourist passes: ₩5,000 (1 day), ₩8,000 (2), ₩10,000 (3), ₩15,000 (5), ₩20,000 (7), plus ₩3,000 for the physical card. A pass starts the day you charge it and ends with that day's last bus or subway.
Know the Climate Card limitsNot valid on the Sinbundang Line, airport buses or intercity buses. AREX works between Gimpo Airport and Seoul Station; at Incheon T1/T2 you can get off but not board.
WOWPASS: transit + paymentA prepaid card with a separate T-money balance. Top up at WOWPASS machines with cash in 16 currencies or in the app; machines are in the Incheon T1/T2 and Gimpo Airport stations.
Get money back before you flyT-money balance: refund at convenience stores (limit about ₩20,000–30,000, varies by store) or station service centers, minus ₩500; the card price isn't refunded. WOWPASS cash withdrawal: ₩1,000 fee, max ₩100,000 each time.

Since March 2025, Climate Card passes can be bought with international credit/debit cards.
With a Climate Card, tap when getting off too: missing twice blocks it for 24 hours.
Cash is the safe bet for T-money top-ups; only some machines take cards.
