🦊 I.N birthday cafés 2027: planning a Seoul trip for February 8

I.N's birthday is February 8. In 2027 it falls on the Monday of Korea's Lunar New Year holiday (Seollal, Feb 6–9), which changes how you plan: some restaurants close, KTX seats to Busan sell out, and flights from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan cost more. No 2027 birthday cafés are announced yet — they usually appear two to four weeks before — and we add each one here as it's confirmed.

Know the dates: Feb 8 is a public holiday in 2027Seollal (Lunar New Year) is Sunday, Feb 7, 2027. The holiday runs Saturday Feb 6 to Tuesday Feb 9 (Feb 9 is a substitute holiday). I.N's birthday, Monday Feb 8, sits right in the middle.
Watch for café announcements from mid-JanuaryFan-run birthday cafés are usually announced two to four weeks ahead on the hosts' X accounts. We'll list each I.N café here with dates, station and goodies as soon as it's confirmed.
Expect Hongdae, Sangsu and HapjeongIn autumn 2026, the Bang Chan and Lee Know cafés clustered around Hongik Univ., Sangsu and Hapjeong stations. Book a stay on AREX or Line 2 near Hongdae and you can walk between most of them.
Check opening days around SeollalMany family-run restaurants and traditional markets close on Seollal day itself and sometimes the day before or after. Hongdae cafés and chain shops mostly stay open, but always check hours on Naver Map before you go.

Before you go

February mornings in Seoul are often below freezing, and first-day café queues form outside before opening — bring a padded coat, gloves and a hand warmer.
Lunar New Year is a holiday in Taiwan, Hong Kong and much of Asia too, so flights to Seoul around Feb 6–9 fill up early. Book as soon as you decide.
