🧾 Getting your tax back in Korea
Visitors staying under six months can reclaim tax on shopping at 'Tax Free' or 'Tax Refund' stores. The easiest way is to take it off the price at the till.
Step by step
- Check you qualifyNon-Korean visitors staying under 6 months; ₩15,000+ per receipt; items new and unused; you leave Korea within 3 months of buying.
- Instant refund in storeShow your passport at checkout. It works for a single payment of ₩15,000 up to under ₩1,000,000, with a ₩5,000,000 limit per trip.
- Otherwise keep the receiptClaim later at the airport, a kiosk, or a downtown refund booth (max ₩6,000,000 per receipt; each booth handles only its own company's receipts).
- At Incheon AirportGet your boarding pass but don't check bags yet. Show goods and receipts to customs for the export stamp, check your bags, then go to a refund counter or kiosk. Cash is paid in the duty-free zone after security.
- Where at IncheonCounters: T1 3F duty-free zone near Gate 28; T2 3F check-in counters F/G and duty-free zone near Gate 253. Kiosks: T1 near Gate 28, T2 near Gates 250 and 253.

- Counter closed? Fill in the receipt and drop it in the box; the refund goes to your card, Alipay or WeChat Pay within 1–2 months.
- Locations can move, so follow the signs on the day.
